'Success in Business'

'Success in Business' Development Forum For Women

Today's leaders have to deal with an exciting but formidable list of challenges that is quite unprecedented.  Business leaders are not only asked to be stewards of the organisation, disciples of brands, motivators of people and architects and implementers of strategy – but to do this against a backdrop of recession, trying to satisfy increasingly demanding shareholders and customers and needing to adapt their style to lead a multi-generational and multi-faceted workforce.

Women in business face these baseline challenges by virtue of being business leaders, but they also face a host of other challenges that are unknown to their male counterparts:

  • ‘Traditional’ ways of doing business have been established over the years by male ‘baby boomers’ who are work obsessed, putting their careers above everything else, working long hours and adopting a typical ‘Alpha Male’ approach to being a senior leader
  • Many organisations still have deeply embedded beliefs that men are more effective as leaders making it difficult for women break through the traditions and ideals of these ‘old boy networks’
  • Women often lack effective role models of how to be successful as a woman at the top of an organisation and to ‘show the way’
  • Women have very unique and powerful leadership styles and skills that have traditionally been undervalued in business
  • As a minority group women have to over come the inherent institutionalised prejudices about where their commitments and priorities lie – work or home/family

Our ‘Successful Women in Business’ Development Forum has been specifically designed for women who want to take control of their careers and to ‘sharpen their elbows’ to rise to the top of the UKs best organizations and institutions.  Our challenging, though provoking 2 days is designed to:

  • Provide women with the space to connect intuitively with themselves and their potential and think innovatively about how to achieve business ambitions and dreams.
  • Increase self-awareness, knowledge and confidence to lead with lasting impact, whatever the career path chosen.
  • Provide appropriate support through 'skills workouts' to help women ‘get noticed’ in the workplace and smash that all important organizational ‘glass ceiling’.
