UK Workers Disengaged Says Major Survey
One of the largest ever employee engagement studies in the UK has revealed that a high proportion of workers in Britain feel disengaged from the companies they work for.
YouGov’s PeopleIndex Employee Engagement Benchmark Study 2007 interviewed 40,000 people from the private and public sectors. It found that only 51% of employees feel fully engaged with the organisation they work for, while 56% would speak highly of their employer.
Only 51% think their organisation deserves their loyalty and just 60% want to be with the same company in a year’s time. Only 48% of employees say they are both engaged and loyal.
Small organisations with less than 100 employees fare better than large ones, with 62% of small firm employees saying they are fully engaged with their organisation.
