Survey Highlights Value of Listening to Employees

Successful employee suggestion schemes can bring huge benefits to an organisation, according to a recent survey.

The survey of 150 organisations by trade association Ideas UK found that on average, 37% of all employee ideas submitted were implemented, and on average, each idea saved the organisation £1,874.  Ideas UK reports that last year its members submitted over 64,000 ideas.  From those implemented, a saving of more than £33m was achieved in a single 12-month period.

“Helping employees see the value of their personal contribution to overall business success is a key factor in driving employee engagement,” says Sue Stoneman, managing director of NKD Group.  “This survey is a great example of the tangible business benefits to be gained from listening to employees and acting upon great ideas.”
